Presenting clinical data for the hazard classification of chemical respiratory sensitisers
Résumé
Extract:
Occupational causes of asthma are an important, preventable source of the disease in several industrial sectors. Workplace airborne agents that can induce asthma (“respiratory sensitisers”) are conventionally categorised as being of “high” or “low” molecular mass. Most of the former are (glyco)proteins, all of which can be antigenic; the latter are termed low molecular mass (LMM or “chemical”) asthmagens.
